Stage Home
Selling A Home: Staging Your Home
Fully staging your home is not a necessary step, but it might be helpful in selling your house faster and for a higher price. You can pick and choose what parts of the house you would like to stage. Here are a list of some areas that benefit from staging:
- Curb Appeal – trim up bushes, clean windows, reseed lawn, plant flowers.
- Deep Clean – Hire some help to do a thorough deep clean. A professional cleaning service is usually quite reasonable and can be the cheapest way to get the best bang for your buck.
- Pick up Clutter – Just removing items from the kitchen counter makes the kitchen look so much bigger. The less you have out, the better. You want the buyer to envision their items in your home, not see all of yours.
- Clean Slate – Try to present the house as neutral as possible. This means creating gender neutral rooms.
- Add cut flowers or bake some cookies during the open house. You want a warm inviting home without the clutter. This will also help with any pet odor or other unpleasant smells.
- Open the closets – Displaying how much storage place you have is always a plus. The open closets also makes the room feel bigger.
- Do not forget about the backyard. Showing how this space can be utilized can be a big asset to the selling of your home.
